Johnny and Eric, let's try and use this blog to get our act together.
Texting on the phone is only so productive. Here, we can share links and media a little easier. Plus you can still read all this on your phone and even comment as well, I think.
So to start things off, I've done some more 'research' on Pathfinder.
Yep, the hardback manual is indeed 50 bucks. BUT, we have an option to think about, because the same information is available in PDF download format for 10 dollars.
So our first decision is this- save 40 dollars and try out the PDF? The thing is, if this is the sort of game system we're looking for, we're going to want that hardback book eventually.
Maybe the best bet is to try out the PDF first. That way we can all go over it, and decide if it's looking realistic/fun, then we can decide purchase the hardback. And that way we'll always have the PDF for the other two of us to use as reference while the GM has the hardback.
Jesus, that was a painful paragraph to read. Sorry.
here's the link to the PDF:

Write in the comments section so I know this is working, mmm'kay?
"we can do this. but not without some casualties"
I just ate a bagel.
ReplyDeleteI sent out a text, but why not use our new medium? I picked up a whole bunch of dice (should cover all of our moves/attacks for three people) a grid sheet that can be written on with dry erase, and a handful of little plastic figures. Just grabbed some stock ones: a knight, a wizard, an assassin, and some enemies. Should cover the basics. Me and Johnny printed out some character sheets, too.
ReplyDeleteNice! Keep track of how much you're spending on all this stuff, so I can compensate.
ReplyDeleteExcept for the bagel. I'm not paying for that.
I've found two free resources online that we can refer to as well:

and

I'll create a front page resource section for stuff like this.
Johnny says you can swing by anytime to grab a .PDF of the manuals.
